Legend
Talgat Alim’s Pine Cone was no ornament, nor an amulet of power. It was heavy with resin and with time. The shamaness said it held the memory of everything that grows slowly, with no one there to watch.
One day a young man came to her, restless and short of temper.
“I do everything I should,” he said. “And nothing changes.”
Talgat handed him the cone and told him to squeeze it in his hands. It was hard, closed tight, stubborn.
“Open it,” she said.
He tried and tried, until at last his hands fell to his sides.
“It can’t be done,” he admitted.
Talgat nodded.
“Not because it is shut. Because its time has not yet come.”
She pointed to the forest.
“A pine cone does not split under force. It opens when the conditions are right.”
The young man went away quietly, the cone in his pocket. He did not come back soon. When at last he returned, he was calmer.
From that day the Pine Cone was counted among Talgat Alim’s artifacts – a reminder that growth does not answer to haste, and that what is meant to open will do so once we stop forcing it.
